Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge # 11 "It's a Wonderful Life"

Powerful Words!

"Look Daddy... Teacher says every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings"

a little ode to the Black and White...

This is my sad attempt to use "Liquid Pearls" not so beautiful as my "Sunny Sankari" But she is my Angel and she always uses "Liquid Pearls" so I had to give them a try... I truly love having a conversation with her she lifts my spirits and leaves me feeling full of sunshine even thought it's usually dark when we talk...(p.m. of course) Your are the bestest in the mid-westest! Love YA!

Sense there are two bells on the stamped image I will tell you of another angel... My sweetheart Regan.. We have been together for 19 years. We just complete one another. I have to say he is much more patient with me that I am with him... He is a very selfless person.. I would be lost with out him. I just can't imagine being with anyone else... He is also my BEST friend and Guardian Angel... I love you Regan.. :)

This month was my brother-in-law's birthday so I had to refrain from all the sparkles and fairy dust...  I HAD to use my new top cut die so that is where I started with this card.. I had also just been on the "Papertry" website and  seen this cute "Owl" set and though I really should use this set.. I only ordered it the night it was released... And I have never used it... So who is tried and true and is always with Harry Potter when the movie starts... Hedwig.... So this is a little ode to The beautiful White Owl...

I also promised a few pictures of my family ages ago in regards to Harry Potter evidently it was pre-digital so I am still digging through photos... I will keep looking...

Paper- Stampin' Up craft, Whisper White, Blue Bayou.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #9 Sound of Music

This is a full version of the sneak peek...
The blue I added was inspired my the beautiful blue skies of Austria and the blue dresses that Julie Andrews wears in the movie...
The Green from the Curtains, I mean play cloths that the Children are wearing and the majestic green Mountains...
The flowers I added were Edelweiss of course.
I added a little red tuft that was an inspiration from the mountain hikers hats in the puppet show.
I love the Quote on the card: "Sometime on the way to a dream, you get lost and find a better one".  Doesn't that just sound like something Julie Andrews would say..
I hope you and your families all enjoyed watching this movie.. I always learn a few thing while I am researching the movies presented. It's great fun...

Mojo Monday #63 "Winter Wonderland"

What do you do when you don't have a product you want to use on a project?  Improvise!!!! Once I get over the fact that I don't have something I want to use.. I get my wheels turning... I often turn to my "Versa Mark" pen for help.. I wanted something to liven up the craft base of the card and I don't have the polka dot background (yet) so I made my own with the Versa Pen.
Don't be afraid to experiment you might just like what you come up with..
Close up view of the shaker card. I used Micro beads and  an art glitter. (like Iridescent Ice from SU) for the snow in the shaker. I sandwiched the clear plastic sheets together with the left over outer edges scraps of the Stampin' Dimensionals all around the outer edge of the frame, then added glitter and beads in the middle. I then placed the image behind it.. On a traditional stamped image you wouldn't need to use two sheets but didn't want the glitter and beard to stick to the liquid applique.  I just figured it out as I went along.. I bet there are tutorials out there to make shaker cards. That would have made life a little bit easier but... Aren't experiments fun!! I also didn't want to run upstairs to the office to look it up... LAZY!!
I really like how the scallop edge covered up the layers of the box..  So much cleaner when you don't see all the layers...
The DSP layer on the bottom of the sentiment is the inspiration for the colors in the card... I used the "Ski Slope" Designer Series Paper for Stampin' Up it's actually my second package of this paper I {heart} the colors and patterns in the package... So glad I ordered a second package!!!

Stamp Recipe:

MOVIE: "Lord of the Rings" 1 & 2 (I know I took for ever)
Stamps: "To You and Yours", "Weathered"
Ink: Close to cocoa, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Bairly Banana, Baja Breeze, Versa Mark Pen.
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Craft, "Ski Slope" DSP S.U.
Ribbon: Baja Breeze
Linen Thread
Micro Beads, Artist Glitter, clear plastic sheets saved form other purchases...(like 3-D stickers)
Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Tack Tape, ATG gun.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge # 8-Miracle on 34th Street

Come create with us.. @
We have blog candy give-away this week... come make a project of any kind and enter to win.....

Since the movie is all about deciding if you really believe in Santa Clause or not I decided to scrapbook a few pictures we took this week.. This is so huge for my little DS because this is the first time we have and memory of Zach even entertaining the thought of wanting to visit with Santa. He is usually the child that is the furthest away sitting on mom, dad or a big brother's lap - NOT on Santa's... Zach was a little nervous and luckily he got to take his sweet time because he was the only kid even visiting with him at all.. We have two son's with birthdays front and back of Halloween and we just didn't get around to having a birthday party for Zach. Dad had taken this week off of work so Mom and Dad took Zach for a special date to make a "Build -a- Bear" all of his own. His big sister had just attended a b-day party at "Build -a- Bear" and she had looked on the computer to see what she might choose at the party and Zach saw the Zebra and that is all that was on his brain for weeks.. We had a great time watching him create his Zebra. Zach named his after a favorite cousin.. So sweet. The girl helping Zach asked if the Zebra was stuffed just right and he said " he is just perfect for snuggling" he didn't want to change a thing. Zach was so excited to show his new Zebra to Santa he even let him hold it while he talked to him. What a magical day.. We created a new friend. Visited with an new/old friend. Went to lunch just the three of us and cute little Zach is still dragging his Zebra with him every were he goes. Oh to be a child again.
For project details check out Brooke's blog.

Kristina's color challenge #32

This week I have to say I was a little excited and then a little worried because on the limited colors. I do {LOVE}  Riding Hood Red... When I sat down to play I already had in my mind that I would accent with silver... I actually used metallic and Sahara Sand.. I you don't have this color you should order it.. It was on the the first neutrals I ever bought from Stampin' Up I will totally surprise you.. The snow flakes are from a Christmas Tree decoration I took apart.. I used the retired silver cording from S.U. with 3-D glue Dots to adhere, give dimension and glue the cording to the project. I ordered this fantastic Christmas wheel a while back and finally had the perfect project to use it with. And of Course I got to use my favorite Riding Hood Ribbon!!

Stamp Recipe:
Stamps: "Scandinavian"wheel, "Holidays & Wishes"
Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Riding Hood Red

Movie Watched: "Eragon"

Tagged Again

How cool to be nominated by your Blogging BFF... She is really the inspiration to me.. Sankari is the most amazing person I have meet.. We both grew up in very different worlds but we  have found through our journey together that we really have so much in common. Our souls are just connected.. From our very first conversation it was like we just pick up from where we had left of.. And we rarely talk for less that 1.5 each time. We have very patient Husbands who are so sweet and even answer the phone with a warm greeting when we call each other. My kids get so  excited when they seen Sankari's name come up on the caller I.D... We all just LOVE you.... Thanks for bringing a LOT of "SunnySankari" Sunshine into our lives....

Happy Thanksgiving

Tagged

Our crazy little Family

I was tagged by Kathy today... It was a quick and different tag so I decided to play along.

This is actually a pretty fun tag. You don't have to answer any questions.  In this tag, you post the 4th picture in the 4th folder of your picture files and then tag 4 others. If you don't have folders like me... a MAC just figure out your own system.. Don't forget to tell us who tagged you...

This is a funny picture we were messing around giggling and pulling faces and our 15 year old caught us on film...

I tag...

Hope you all have a great day... Don't forget to come play with us a "Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge"... Blog Candy is on it's way..........

Hugs
Brooke

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge # 7 - Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Is this a Kids dream Thanksgiving feast of what!

I really wanted to re-created the clever little Thanksgiving dinner that the peanuts gang made.. The preparing of the Thanksgiving feast is my favorite part of the whole show. Toast a flying everywhere and butter spread just as fast... So dang clever... Woodstock has always been a favorite of mine with his looks like you people are nut... and what the heck are you thinking... And he just quietly goes about his business.. What a genius....

I used a scallop circle and a sponge dauber to make the clouds in the sky.. I really love the contrast it give to the yellow Woodstock image.

Zach and Abbie had such a great time together at "Camp Snoopy" They never stopped giggling... and Smiling.. I think they would even choose it over Disneyland they had that much fun.. I highly suggest a trip to "Knotts Berry Farm" for the family there is so much more shade and lots of benches for adults to sit on... And like Disneyland parents can join in on most, but not all of the rides...  Knotts was a great place to go because all week we had experienced way to many crowds and line and Disney. So to get to Knotts and have to place to our selves was a dream... I would go back in a heart beat.... Don't get me wrong.. I would never go to SO-CAL with out going to Disneyland I would probably choose it over anywhere else...
Zachy is always to proud of his projects.. He actually sleeps with some of the little letter books he makes at school... He also says: "Hey did you see the book I made" or "Hey did I show you my book" he show us all multiple time and tells us all the little details... How SWEET!!

Favorite color combo

OK so I know you are all so sick of seeing or hearing about this color combo from me but.... I just makes me happy... I really wasn't a big fan of the color orange until I found "Pumpkin Pie" from Stampin' Up. Not I find myself trying to use it on everything... Hey I even used it on one of my last Christmas cards.... HERE.

I was searching around on Splitcoast a while back and I just had to make this card... If you want to make on you can link to it HERE for the tutorial..

Don't forget to check out all the great project for the holiday season of Splitcoast and Papercraftplanet... If you are up for a new challenge come join us for a sneak peek on Friday at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.. This is a whole Family affair this week I will be having my kids play along with us...
