Verve release challenge..

Julee over at VERVE stamps is having a new stamp release party tonight don't miss out..

These are my verve cards for her stamp release challenge.

Fathers Day Dad! Up, Up and Away

My Dad the Balloon Pilot...
(This is a pretty old pic.. But is shows him on the job
I will dig up a few pictures of his Balloons and post later)

When I way the stamp set "Up, Up and Away"(verve stamps) I had to have it! This was our life growing up. We were so blessed to travel all over the U.S and Canada for Balloon Rallies. My little sister took her first steps on a balloon trip in Oregon. We had the coolest 70's Van when we were kids.. We had a t.v., Fold out couch, built in mobil phone and a fridge.. When you are a balloonist you have to get up really early.. So we could take a little more time getting moving in the morning.

Happy Fathers Day DAD!

Catch Up

These two cards were recently posted on Stamipn' Up's website..  They were cards I had entered in a "Bleach it Out" contest...

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #37 "High School Musical

East High School Class of 1989

I wanted to make a project a little more than a card. So A little memory book was a perfect fit until I went to print out pictures.. and found I was out of ink.. So here you go lots of picture below. We did have more than Abbie and myself on the tour.... The boys just didn't want to admit or should we say have proof that they had a cool time on the High School Musical tour...
This tour was really not a easy thing to arrange evidently.. It was a hassle. My friend Nikki made the arrangements and told us it was very expensive, they even made her get insurance for the time we were there.. She told them it was for our 20th high school reunion for this school... While we were on the tour they told us they were going to start filming the 4th movie very soon. The funniest part of the tour was when the guide said " Our next stop is Sharpay's locker" All the little girls squealed it was really cute. My favorite part of the tour was the main gym and the stage.. This is an amazing stage.. We spend lots of hours on that stage.. Lots of great memories... I had a great time I hope we have a class reunion in 5 years I loved catching up with everyone.

Little Zach is the new Zach....

I can't wait until I get a pink locker in high school.

Move over Sharpay. We are Fabulous!
Enjoying the show.

I want......

I still want...

Hugs
Brooke

For the LOVE of "Crystal Effects".... I love using Crystal Effects. I squeezed a little crystal effects on a piece of paper and used my paper piercer to color in the letters of LOVE with Crystal Effects.

This movie hit the big screen 22 November 1991 (USA)  the year we were married.. So we thought it would be fun to take out niece. He mom told us this was the first movie she had ever seen. She was only 2 years old. She did amazing.. Better that our kids have ever done at the movies..  I think the musical number "Be Our Guest" os the biggest show toon number ever done.. What magic that was... Who new that silverware and dishes were so musical... A few years ago we say the broadway version at the Tuacahn Theater here in Utah.. This is a outdoor theater that looks onto the "redrocks" of the desert.. The best thing about having it outside....they get to use live animals, like horse drawn carriages and ride on horses.. Their stage incorporates the mountain side so you get to see then entering into the scene in the far on horses. The heat was insane that night when we finished watching the production it was still over 100F at 10:30 p.m.  The poor guy that had to wear the beast outfit...I...I...I... We peeked over the stage on a break and he had the top of the costume off and was sweating buckets...  The other great part about outside was they used real fireworks in the production... REALLY COOL.... My DS just watched "FOOTLOOSE" at the Tuacahn last night.. Kinda funny because it was originally filmed here in Utah and the Flour mill is just down few miles away. For my card I new I didn't want to make a cartoon image.. I always had a rose and this image in mind.. I also thought it would be fun to incorporate Julee's Mojo monday sketch as well. This is also a dedication to my favorite in-color that is leaving the end of June from the current Stampin' Up catalog... I {Heart} you Riding Hood Red

Have fun and good luck winning the Blogs Candy!

Kristina's Color Challenge #54 You are my Sunshine

"You are my Sunshine" this card is in honor of two cutie pies... My dearest daughter Abbie and my Sunshine in the middle of the night Sankari. Sense Abbie was a baby I have always sang the song "You are my Sunshine" to her.. She still crinkles up her little body and has a HUGE smile on her face and soul when I sing this song to her... I always felt so guilty singing this song to my next baby because this was our song... Maybe because she was in the next room and I was singing it to some one else... Abbie is 11 now, but she is still my little Abbie.. She is a little girls lost in the sea of "BIG" Little and big brothers... I love that she is a short little gal...

Sankari is the Sunshine in the middle of the night when all the world is a sleep but us! Literally!  We are totally crazy and keep late hours... Last night we chatted for almost 2 hours.. We both had to get up REALLY early but it's always worth it to me... Sankari has the sunniest personalist and always has a very cheerful hello and good by.. I always have my soul warmed when I am around Sankari... Even thought we are MILES away!  I love you girlie!

Hugs to you both..

Stamp set renovation and Last Chance List 2009

3 stamps.....

to 33 stamps

This is your last chance to order this great Sentiment set...
Have you ever looked at a set and thought I would love to use that image in the middle of the stamp.. But thought it was a huge bother to ink it up and try to place it perfectly... I broke up a retired stamp set that was all sentiments a few catalogs ago. And I have loved every minute of it.. I have used this set even more because I can just grab the sentiment I want..

What you will need

Stamp set of course.. I used :
"Many Happy Returns"
$18.95 us

1- domino per sentiment (33 for this set)
Craft and Rubber scissors.
Paper snips.

I used the left over domino's from my last stamp set make-over. I need to pick up a new set to finish... I found that at Walmart the price was the same in the end if you bought a small package or a large.. It just depends if you want to run out on you next project of sit on a few extra domino's for a while...

I am a little wacko!! So I make sure that the dotted numbers are on the back so I don't have to look at them. I first place the clear sticker with the sentiment on the top to help keep me on track.. I used the small paper snips to cut the stickers smaller. If you have a sentiment that just won't fit no problem. If you look closely in the front middle of the box you can see I mounted it the traditional method and made sure it's in the front so I can see what the sentiment is.

Don't miss out on this set it will not be available after June 30th..

Stampin' Up Last Chance List is here

A New Challenge

Today I can across a new challenge on my friend Nancy blog.. I was up for something new so I just on this challenge.. What a fun sketch! Karen Giron challenge is called "Sweet Sunday" I decided to use a paper pack that I don't use as often as I should, and is retiring in a few weeks... "Raspberry Tart" did I mention that I am in morning for the loss of the In-Colors that are leaving :(

I have a little addiction to craft paper so I decided to break out and stretch myself.. I used Whisper White for the base of the card.. Then just started cutting 1.5 in' squares of DSP and arranging them on the paper.. When I decided what patterns I wasnted I edged the squares with ink.. And adheared them to the card base.. I then Sewed aroung the squared and pulled the threads throught the back and tied them off. I edged the card base inside and out with Pink Pirouette. I cut a 3.5 in' square of white and punched it with the scallop egde punch from SU.. I overlaped the corners and then rounded them of with the SU corner rounder (retired size). The mounted the white on a 3 in' square piece of Kiwi Kiss paper. I embelished the card with the Pretty in Pink striped Grosgrain ribbon and a sweet butterfly I punched from the same DSP and Vellum using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I couldn't forget the inside of the card. I inked up part of the sentiment from the front of the card and punched out with the 1.25" circle punch finishe with ribbon and a brad...

Inside of the card

This sentiment is exactly how I feel right know.. My kids are growing up so fast I can hardly stand it.. My oldest is driving and my baby just lost his first tooth... I am getting old and I don't don't even know it.. With the lost of my Grandfather a week 2 weeks ago. I had an epiphany. We just all moved up a generation.. My parents are the oldest know and I am next in line.. I have always though of my parents and young as well as my self... Were did the time go.... We all need to enjoy every day as if it was our last. I don't want to miss anything...

Hugs

Cinema saturday Creative Challenge #35 "Some Like it Hot"

Come join us over a "Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge" and make a" HOT" card. The requirement this week is to use an element of Lace or Ruffles. We you have finished don't forget to share it with us on the CSCC blog. If you are linking to another blog don't forge to leave a comment...

A little card for the person I want to be loved by forever..

If you want to play along with this sketch you have to hurry over to Julee's Mojo blog.. This is a contest challenge this week so don't miss out...

My first inperation for this card was the music.. I searched on line for the sheet music and read through a few and choose my fav.... I then reduced to the size I wanted and had this great sketch come to mind.... I {Love} Julee's sketches.. I use to do mostly color challenges.. But if I have to choose one or the other due to time etc. I choose Julee...

I don't remember when I first saw this film. But who could forget Jack Lemon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe... I can see them dressed up as girls playing there instruments on the train with the all girl band... Then acting like best girlfriends with Sugar... Hillarious...

A favorite line is from the song.. "I Want to be Loved by You"
Sugar: [singing] I wanna be loved by you, just you, nobody else but you. I wanna be loved by you alo-o-one. Boop boop e doo.
(I always think of Betty Boob when I here this line.)

Favorite Quote from this movie:
Sugar: Story of my life. I always get the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Saddest fact I found:
Marilyn Monroe was pregnant during the filming, as a result she looked considerably heavier. She had no known children and several miscarriages in her life. Due to her pregnancy, most of the publicity still photos were posed for by both 'Sandra Warner' (who had an uncredited role as one of the band members) and Monroe's frequent stand-in Evelyn Moriarty with Monroe's head superimposed later.

Funny Fact:
When Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon first put on the female make-up and costumes, they walked around the Goldwyn Studios lot to see if they could "pass" as women. Then they tried using mirrors in public ladies rooms to fix their makeup, and when none of the women using it complained, they knew they could be convincing as women. There is a scene on the train recreating this moment.

Cool Votes for this movie:
In 2007, the America Film Institute ranked this as the #22 Greatest Movie of All Time.

The movie's line "Well, nobody's perfect." was voted as the #48 movie quote by the American Film Institute (out of 100).

Voted #1 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Funniest Movies.

Voted #14 on the AFI's List of 100 Greatest Movies.

Hope you enjoy the show..
Hugs
Brooke
