Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

Glinda the Good Witch of the North
I know this card is not fancy princess/good queen, rhinestones and wands kinda of card but, I have to create a few projects for up coming classes so here is a little Valentines project inspired by "Glinda the Good Witch of the North". (I did use glitter and ribbon)

As I typed the name Glinda I had a line of hers come to my head.... ~
Glinda, the Good Witch of the North: Only bad witches are ugly!!

This is one of my favorite line in the movie~

Glinda, the Good Witch of the North: You have no power here! Now begone, before somebody drops a house on you!

Don't you just want to repeat this line to someone. Next time you just can't find the words plant this one on them.  They will look at you cross eyed and confused but you will have made your point and you can run like a big chicken because you just had your Auntie Em' moment and your remember you are a good Christian Women who never tells anyone off. (he,he)

Here is her infamous line~
Auntie Em:
For twenty-three years I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!

AH just give it to her Auntie Em!!!

Hugs
Brooke

"Tea Pot Man Treats"

The Sneak peek pic.

I just had to make another quick "Tea-Pot Man" inspired project..
(If you don't know what a "Tea-Pot Man" is you will have to read down a couple posts!)

Who doesn't love Peeps.... These yummy Hearts are Strawberry Cream flavor.. I ate one for Sankari today... It was Yum-a-licious... She also loves peeps.. But unlike me she has better self control and doesn't buy sugary goodness products like me 0x0x0x... Weird "Peep's" fact about me.. I like to leave them out for a week or so that way they are a little chewy.... I have tried the Freezer for a quick fix.... not to bad... I know super lame..

For another sugary goodness inspired project you have to see Ann's cute project... LOVE IT!
See ya soon.

cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

(notice all the pink.. Explained below....lol)

When I started making the Tin Man costume for my now 16 year old (in 3 days) he was about 7.. I had never sew anything with lamie before.. So who do you call???? MOM of course. She totally helped me finish that project... When Zach is 1st grade he is GOING to were that costume I will have to bribe him because he will want to be a power range , transformer or heaven knows what.. For Kindergarten  next year I am trying to convince him to be a scarecrow... I have the CUTEST costume ever.. I will dig out a photo of my second DS to show you all... It's so dang cute...

Jumping of track just a little Zach just came in and said "hey mom, that sure is a cute "Tea pot man" card" how cute is that....

From the time we decided to present the "Wizard of Oz" as this week's movie keep having visions of the Tin man in my head... I wanted to focus on just a portion of him the most important part of course. "THE HEART". In my mind I keep seeing just a section of his chest with a heart on a chain and this is how it ended up.. I kinda like the results.... I love the metalic look to this card.. The only trick thing is trying to photograph it... It's just like a mirror.. I didn't think about it until I down loaded the photos. All I was seeing was a big pink reflection (my sweater) back to the drawing board... I used a sanding block from Stampin' Up to distress the edges and body to give it a little life.  What a fun card I have to say! I want to make another "Tin Man" card.. Another favorite character of mine for sure...

Famous quotes:
Tin Woodsman: "If I only had a heart"

Wizard of Oz: As for you, my galvanized friend, you want a heart. You don't know how lucky you are not to have one. Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.
Tin Woodsman: But I still want one.

Tin Woodsman: I'll see you reach the Wizard, whether I get a heart or not. Beehive, bah! Let her try and make a beehive out of me!

Dorothy: Goodbye, Tinman. Oh, don't cry! You'll rust so dreadfully. Here's your oil can.
Tin Woodsman: Now I know I've got a heart, 'cause it's breaking...

Hope you enjoyed one of my favorites the "Tin Woodsman"

Don't forget to check back for more fun from OZ!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

Ok. So I really couldn't help my self.. I love the "Wizard of OZ" Ironically Sankari is the one who suggested the movie..  I have a few cards that I have made that I will be posting throughout the week so stop by again to see more fun "Wizard of Oz" cards/projects...

I have to say i didn't watch this move before I started creating my projects.. I think we all have it memorized.. Besides I can only find the VHS cover to the movie not even the movie.. I did read that there is a "70" anniversary dvd out there so I will have to buy it right away!

I had a lot of great lines from the movie kicking around in my head so I went over to "I.M.D.B." A movie lovers greatest friend.. If you are ever watching a movie and just can't focus on it because you have to know what else that star had played it.. Here is you answer...
"Internet movie Data Base"

I looked up the "Wizard of Oz" and them read through all the quotes and created a page folder of all my favorites..  I then decided from the movie quotes what cards I wanted to make.. A little different this week.

Here is my first card inspired from a line in the movie:
"The Wizard of Oz'

"I'm afraid there's know denyin'...
I'm just a dandy-lion.
"Cowardly Lion"

How cute is this guy.. He is one of my favorite's
Another favorite lines from him is~
"If I were the king of the fore-e-e-est.." (With his cute wiggly voice.)

Come back later for another creation form the "Wizard of Oz"

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

This week Sankari and I decided to present the "Wizard of Oz". The is a Hugs classic... I think you could probably create a card or project for this movie and not have to even re-watch this move... At our house My DD and I are big fans of this movie.. We have dress up for Halloween at characters from this movie, my DD has a Dorothy barbie, We collected all the Madam Alexander doll from Mc Donald's..  You could say we have had a lot of fun with this movie...

Look at these little legs how cute are they.

Join us inside

Sweet DD as Dorothy (age 2) I did a whole photo shoot with the outfit. Red Ruby slippers of corse.
DS's age 7 & 4.. If you have ever made anything with lame you know how hard it is to sew with. Thank heavens I had my mom around for help....  Sewing on ever lock of doll hair for the lions mane was a job as well... (both worth it! and by dang my 5 year old will wear the tin man costume this year or next mark my word)
Kids picture from the school carnival. Were did the time go.. That tin man will be 16 this coming Friday!
These classic pages are from sooooo long ago my style has changed so much.. I really did have a great time making our families costumes and creating these pages... Back in the day these pages were even selected to be published in "Creating Keepsake" magazine Idea book for the year 1999- or 2000. I don't remember...

A close up view of the whole trick-or-treat gang... Notice there is no snow on the ground... a rare thing for Halloween in UTAH....

Come back soon I will be posting more project for the "Wizard of Oz" challenge over at our challenge blog... Come play along..

Hugs~
Brooke
