Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #17 The Princess Bride & 2sketches4you

When I was a Senior in high school 20(choking) years ago... I was in a women's ensemble. We were practicing for a little barbershop number using canes and hats... I know corny... anyway my girlfriend raised and pointed her sword(cane) toward me and said these famous words to me: "Hello my name is Inigo Montoya you killed my father prepare to die" I totally had not clue what she was talking about.. So She explained to me all about a movie call "The Princess Bride" and that was pretty much history... We had many swords fights that spring as we rehearsed for our spring showcase...

When I married my sweetie pie this was one of his favorite movies and now one of our children's favorite movies.. I think I watched this movie 3 times in a row while I was making cards yesterday. "Inconceivable" but true. I even watched the extra features and Mandy Patinkin boobs like a baby.. He just couldn't believe he was part of such an amazing movie it's really cute. He was so happy bless his heart... In the interview he say "I asked Rob Reiner what he thought this move was really all about and he told me:
"The most important thing in life is true love".

Inspired by ~LOVE~

I'm a first timer on this challenge... But I have been stalking this challenge 4~ever.... I just had to put it at the top of my to-do list.. I will be back for more. I really had a great time playing along.. I really enjoy the style of card that are being done over at this challenge.. Thanks Laura and Kazan..

With the new reals of "The Princess Bride" a while back this was the jacket cover.. The title on the cover is SO COOL!!! The artist who designed the cover is a genius.. The title reads Princess Bride wether you view the sunrise of the blue sky...

Come join us in and challenge your creativity. We would love to have you.

Sneak Peek and a HUGE milestone for ME!

Ok girls... This first sneak peek is in honor of Carol... She was hoping for this kind of non-descript picture so here you go girl :) Love ya Carol.

What is the Mile stone you say?

MY OLDEST CHILD IS "16" today! Were did the time so go? I was just 16 myself.. We are spending the day with him.. Going to lunch and dinner and just having a little one-on-one... Luck boy.

This boy is so OBSESSED with FORD TRUCKS! One day he will have a giant red Ford truck and it will be plastered with "University of Utah" all over it. We don't even own a truck just a mini van and Honda.. So this idea is all about a teenage boy. Not that we don't love trucks.. We just commute and they are not great on gas and carpool for DH and I both. I have always loved trucks. My dad still has and always has had trucks.. In fact Andrew covets his Giant diesel 4 door RED FORD TRUCK. He has been trying to inherit it for years...  Andrews other obsession in life is the "University of Utah" The boys in the family all have season ticket to all the football games.. His room is a Shrine to the "U" he proudly flies his "Utah" flag in a "BYU" obsessed community! Way to stand up strong for what is good and true..(he,he) Andrew want to attend the "U" when he is older..(older that is like 2 years away...oh my.) My husband and I meet and both  attended the "University of Utah" . So we love our "UTES" as well..

So this card is just all about Andrew! We love ya bud..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Andrew

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

Glinda the Good Witch of the North
I know this card is not fancy princess/good queen, rhinestones and wands kinda of card but, I have to create a few projects for up coming classes so here is a little Valentines project inspired by "Glinda the Good Witch of the North". (I did use glitter and ribbon)

As I typed the name Glinda I had a line of hers come to my head.... ~
Glinda, the Good Witch of the North: Only bad witches are ugly!!

This is one of my favorite line in the movie~

Glinda, the Good Witch of the North: You have no power here! Now begone, before somebody drops a house on you!

Don't you just want to repeat this line to someone. Next time you just can't find the words plant this one on them.  They will look at you cross eyed and confused but you will have made your point and you can run like a big chicken because you just had your Auntie Em' moment and your remember you are a good Christian Women who never tells anyone off. (he,he)

Here is her infamous line~
Auntie Em:
For twenty-three years I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!

AH just give it to her Auntie Em!!!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

"Tea Pot Man Treats"

The Sneak peek pic.

I just had to make another quick "Tea-Pot Man" inspired project..
(If you don't know what a "Tea-Pot Man" is you will have to read down a couple posts!)

Who doesn't love Peeps.... These yummy Hearts are Strawberry Cream flavor.. I ate one for Sankari today... It was Yum-a-licious... She also loves peeps.. But unlike me she has better self control and doesn't buy sugary goodness products like me 0x0x0x... Weird "Peep's" fact about me.. I like to leave them out for a week or so that way they are a little chewy.... I have tried the Freezer for a quick fix.... not to bad... I know super lame..

For another sugary goodness inspired project you have to see Ann's cute project... LOVE IT!
See ya soon.

cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

(notice all the pink.. Explained below....lol)

When I started making the Tin Man costume for my now 16 year old (in 3 days) he was about 7.. I had never sew anything with lamie before.. So who do you call???? MOM of course. She totally helped me finish that project... When Zach is 1st grade he is GOING to were that costume I will have to bribe him because he will want to be a power range , transformer or heaven knows what.. For Kindergarten  next year I am trying to convince him to be a scarecrow... I have the CUTEST costume ever.. I will dig out a photo of my second DS to show you all... It's so dang cute...

Jumping of track just a little Zach just came in and said "hey mom, that sure is a cute "Tea pot man" card" how cute is that....

From the time we decided to present the "Wizard of Oz" as this week's movie keep having visions of the Tin man in my head... I wanted to focus on just a portion of him the most important part of course. "THE HEART". In my mind I keep seeing just a section of his chest with a heart on a chain and this is how it ended up.. I kinda like the results.... I love the metalic look to this card.. The only trick thing is trying to photograph it... It's just like a mirror.. I didn't think about it until I down loaded the photos. All I was seeing was a big pink reflection (my sweater) back to the drawing board... I used a sanding block from Stampin' Up to distress the edges and body to give it a little life.  What a fun card I have to say! I want to make another "Tin Man" card.. Another favorite character of mine for sure...

Famous quotes:
Tin Woodsman: "If I only had a heart"

Wizard of Oz: As for you, my galvanized friend, you want a heart. You don't know how lucky you are not to have one. Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.
Tin Woodsman: But I still want one.

Tin Woodsman: I'll see you reach the Wizard, whether I get a heart or not. Beehive, bah! Let her try and make a beehive out of me!

Dorothy: Goodbye, Tinman. Oh, don't cry! You'll rust so dreadfully. Here's your oil can.
Tin Woodsman: Now I know I've got a heart, 'cause it's breaking...

Hope you enjoyed one of my favorites the "Tin Woodsman"

Don't forget to check back for more fun from OZ!

Hugs

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz

Ok. So I really couldn't help my self.. I love the "Wizard of OZ" Ironically Sankari is the one who suggested the movie..  I have a few cards that I have made that I will be posting throughout the week so stop by again to see more fun "Wizard of Oz" cards/projects...

I have to say i didn't watch this move before I started creating my projects.. I think we all have it memorized.. Besides I can only find the VHS cover to the movie not even the movie.. I did read that there is a "70" anniversary dvd out there so I will have to buy it right away!

I had a lot of great lines from the movie kicking around in my head so I went over to "I.M.D.B." A movie lovers greatest friend.. If you are ever watching a movie and just can't focus on it because you have to know what else that star had played it.. Here is you answer...
"Internet movie Data Base"

I looked up the "Wizard of Oz" and them read through all the quotes and created a page folder of all my favorites..  I then decided from the movie quotes what cards I wanted to make.. A little different this week.

Here is my first card inspired from a line in the movie:
"The Wizard of Oz'

"I'm afraid there's know denyin'...
I'm just a dandy-lion.
"Cowardly Lion"

How cute is this guy.. He is one of my favorite's
Another favorite lines from him is~
"If I were the king of the fore-e-e-est.." (With his cute wiggly voice.)

Come back later for another creation form the "Wizard of Oz"

Hugs
Brooke
