Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #51 All about Eve

The leading lady pose..

Sense bling was our inspiration starter I though I would us a few crystals just spread out on the paper.. They photographed kind of funny don't you think... Sense this move is a BIG silver screen movie with a huge case of favorites.. I decided to keep it simple and not color in the image.. I also wanted to keep the color scheme simple. This is a great movie to watch on a cozy winter day/night don't forget it's 3 hours long.... My kiddos watched the last part of it with me after school and liked it... I thought that was kinda cool.. Most kids are that interested in old movies..

This week on Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.. We are presenting "ALL ABOUT EVE" a black and white classic..A movie about a leading actress who thinks she is getting to old to be loved by fans and others. She thinks they would rather have a younger actress. She is also very melodramatic...(Betty Davis) I had never even hear about this move.. Our guest designer Libby made the suggestion . She said she had the perfect stamp sets for the movie... My favorite part of the movie was seeing an actress named Celeste Holm.. Celeste is still a working actress today. She is 92 and has a movie in production right know. If you read a bit about Celeste on Imdb she was a few quotes the funniest is a conversation she had with Bette Davis.. You can read it here.(It's the last personal quote.) Betty sure was an interesting person we will give her that.

Welcome Sailers! If you have just come from LeeAnn Greff did you totally get you mind thinking about Christmas.. I know I am excited to get thinking about making Christmas tags... Were you just blown away with her amazing projects or what!! That's a hard act to follow. So here it goes.

I am so excited to share a few FALL projects for you... This time of year is one of my favorites of all time.. I love the changing of the leaves and the crisp smell of change in the air.. I have to say that I am loving football season this year soooo much.. ( I can't believe that I just typed that LOL.) I have no clue when it come to the rules ect.. I am just so proud of my 11th grader and his high school football team.. I guess you could say I am learning to love the sport and I am now a FOOTBALL MOM...(he,he)

"Pumpkin Patch" Diorama Card
My first project is so much fun.. I made a Diorama card a few years ago and have loved looking at it but with Halloween just around the corner I wanted a new fall one to show off. (you can find a great tutorial for cutie pa-tutie Diana Gibbs here.) So I couldn't resist when I saw the next stamp set "PUMPKIN PATCH" in the new "Holiday Mini Catalog" from Stampin' Up.. You can get a look right here..

Picture Window "Pumpkin Patch"
I love layers... I had such a fun time making this halloween card.. I {HEART} my Stampin' Up Punches... The curly label punch was sooo perfect for little window.. I love the curves it give to the windows it makes it just a little more whimsical that a square... Another favorite item that is a must have from S.U. is their YUMMY ribbon... I LOVE!!! the new Dusty Durango in-color.. This new color works so perfectly with the color "Pumpkin Pie, and pink, and Old Olive, and Kraft, and Taken with Teal.. You get the picture...
Don't for get to leave a little surprise in side your cards...

"Autumn Splendor"
OK now here are some of the yummy fall colors that I was talking about... How cool do they look with Taken with Teal... The new stamp set "Autumn Splendor" make the coolest background paper.. The veining in the leaves are just gorgeous...

Give Thanks with "Autumn Splendor"
I really wanted to make a card using the "Emerging Color Technique" This is one of my favorite technique.. It's always a surprise you never know what you the finished card will look like. The Sentiment on this card is from the stamp set "Holiday Best" but if you want to add it to your collection you can host a workshop and learn how to do the Emerging Color Technique and earn this set with your hostess benefits... than means FREE...Yahoo!

Just like FALL it's time to move on to the next Catty Cruise Port.. You won't be disappointed.. I
can hardly contain my self I love this girlies work... I will be joining you on the cruise so I can devour all the project Becky Roberts is sharing with you... If you have never been to here sight you will quickly add her to you blog roll so you never loose her.. Becky is the QUEEN of 3-d and altered projects... And guess what she is even cuter that her projects..

cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #50 Pretty Woman

Can you believe we are having our "50th" challenge!!
Wahoo!
We have a very special "Pretty Woman" Celebrating with us this week.

Ms. Star of the stamp world herself~

of

Can you get any cooler than that.. I have visited her blog countless times and loved her work.. One of the stamps that always comes to mind when I see her name is a stamps set she offered to help promote autism awareness.."Love you to Pieces" I was just so impressed with her reaching out to help others and give hope...

We love to ask our guest designers for input when it's their time to shine on our challenge blog. When we asked Gina what movie she would like to do for this week she said "Pretty Woman". Gina also had a great technique for us this week Paper Piecing.. LOVE IT! And the perfect stamps to use this week for the challenge were none other than Gina's stamps of course... I used 2 of her sets.

First:
"Retro Boutique"

Second:
"Perfectly Polished"

I have only seen this movie on t.v. and ages ago.. So when I read up on all the in's and out's of this movie on I.M.D.B. there were lost of comments about how it's was a modern version of Cinderella so I thought that the sentiment.. "You're the fairest of them all" sounded very princess like even if it's a Snow White quote... I {HEART} the little lipstick and nail polish Adorable... hand to add them to the card..

I hope you all have a GREAT time creating a card/project that is inspired and reflects the movie "Pretty Woman".

Thank you GINA for joining in our "50th" celebration..

Don't forget to come play we have AMAZING BLOG CANDY donated by GINA...

Come join our challenge this week and enter to win.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #49 - The Two Towers (Lord of the Rings)

two_towers_036_2.jpg

When I say the dress that Eowyn was wearing I knew I was using blue... As I was watching the movie I had a moment of inspiration when Merry and Pippin were with the Ents (Trees).. So I started a tree that I think ended up looking like it belongs more in Rivendale... This movie as do all the L.O.T.R's movies has such a huge FRIENDSHIP overtone. I wanted to show how loyal all the different characters in this movie are. Sam edifies the ultimate friend.

This card is for all my amazing friends that I have meet through Cinema Saturday challenges...

When I was growing up my dad recorded the L.O.T.R. from our P.B.S. radio.. I remember listening to the Hobbit and being a little sacred... I remember the book by the side of his bed and him naming a subdivision in Utah with the street names all L.O.T.R.'s... I though that my dad was a huge fan but not that obsessed.. He really didn't spend that much time thinking about the L.O.T.R's...

That was until I meet
~CAROL~
She lives in Shire herself just kiddin'... She know more about The Lord of the Rings than anyone I have ever meet. I am almost scared to type anything about the movie in fear I will totally get my wires crossed... You HAVE to go over to CAROL'S blog and see who she has given her card to... It's really COOL... Just a little hint to where she hangs Akubra.

Come play with us and get a chance to win BLOG CANDY.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #48- School of Rock

Of course the first thing that came to mind with the requirement of CORK was a bulletin board.. What is more school and t-ween than that... I bought this sheet of Cork about 10 years ago and wanted to use it for a similar project on a scrap booking page... Well guess what I never got to that.. So I was SOOOO delighted to get to use it.... I still have a sheet so I will definitely be die cutting some cork.
This is the cutest stamp set ever... It's a must for anyone with kids in your life.. This was stamped on velum and colored on the back with stampin' Write markers.. I then used a stylus to outline the image and cute just around it.. The crazy lips are a mine... I just couldn't make any attempts look happy... With the black background it looked like a chalk board so I had to make little doodles that all teen girls make on every little surface... I finished it of with ribbon to make it look like it was hanging on the wall..

This CUTE notebook project was a shoe box swap I made at convention with my SUFRIENDSFOREVER yahoo group... The Lovely Daphne ALOHA Daphne(She lives in Hawaii)
put this project together... It was so had to pick which paper to choose to make this project.. I really need to order the entire pack of "Kaleidoscope" DSP from SU... When I finished making this I thought... I am soooo going to share this project with my DD she will love it, but I love it too... So I decided we could write love note to each other back and forth that way we could both enjoy it..
what a great movie to be inspired my if I had the time I think I would have love to do a music inspired card... You will have to do it for me and post it over at the challenge site... If you want to see more great cards inspired by the challenge come join us HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #47 - Forrest Gump

What a great movie... Forrest is such an amazing character... What a loyal and true friend he is to so many people in this movie... I though it would be fun to try to make a few shrimp.. So I borrow the shrimp design from SU summer b.b.q. Country Living Magazine kit... And made me some shrimp...

You can't have a proper B.B.Q. with out the traditional red shiny briquet grill. After stamping and coloring the little guy I added a little crystal effects to give it a super shine.

If you want to read more about my inspiration and see a few other cards from this challenge come on over to our challenge blog HERE.

Enjoy
Thanks for stopping buy
