Kristina's Color Challenge #23

Ok so I think I have come to terms with Bravo Burgundy! I still prefer Purely Pomegranate. Pumpkin pie with anything Pink and Old Olive is my favorite... What a great match they are....
I really had fun making this card and it came together quite fast.. I don't really look at layout before I start making cards I think color inspires me the most.. I usually put all the color from the challenge in from of me while I am looking at them a stamp of Idea some to my head... I don't think I have ever had a card end up the way I had first envisioned it... I just evolves and even to the last minute I am making additions and I am usually pretty happy with the results...

All Stampin' Up unless otherwise stated
Stamp set: Eastern Elegance
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Ribbon: Old Olive, natural twine
Paper: So Saffron, Baroque Burgundy, Very Vanilla, tag and more very vanilla

Just when you though you were spoiled...

Just when you think you are so lucky to have received such a an care package in the mail.... There was a door bell ring... I thought it was just on of the many neighbor hood kids asking to play.. But NO it was Mr Brown....... My 4 year old answered the door and said mom it you stamps!! I thought wahoo I wasn't expecting them until tomorrow.. I hadn't even got my ups # yet.... So we carried them in and  I thought what is this box that feels so light... I didn't even notice that it didn't say Stampin' Up on it.. I opened it and saw white peanuts and thought that's weird Stampin'Up stuff usually is stuffed with brown paper... I looked on the box and  I had no idea who this was from. What had I ordered??? Then there in the midst of all the sea of white was a little greeting card..  I recognized the had writing and was so flabbergasted. What had Sankari set to me... I dug deeper and saw a beautiful package with celery ribbon on it... In side was the most beautiful china tea set for my family from her family... WOW my DD and I had to pick up our jaws of the floor... We will treasure this little tea set forever!!!

Sankari----I'm speechless.... You have out done yourself and we love it. Thanks for being so thoughtful.... DD want you to come to our house and have her room for a least a week she said... So we can spend some quality time together....all three of us...

Wishing you the happiest thoughts and sunshine hugs ever....

Brooke
What a gorgeous tea set.. and a sweet card.

Sankari you are my cup of tea.
  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Oh ya! I forgot I got my order from MR Brown too... It's just doesn't see as important....

A lot of Sankari Sunshine!!!

Now if only Mr. Brown would bring me some love like Sankari!!!

Lookie Lookie at all the sweetness that Sankari sent me. She has given me 3 options for my pretty pink toes nails... Banana soap from India, a foot scrubber get for a person who wears a lot of flip flops, Pistachio foot cream, a beautiful black and grey bag that held all the foot care products. For the kitchen a tiny flower cookie cutter, PINK pastry brush (my 4 year old was so excite for me because he is convinced my favorite color is pink), and a bamboo scoop and fork.. For the soul Indian Chi tea, and for the yummy Vanilla wafers, and All allergy free Snicker doodles... How cute to think of my DS that is allergic to nuts... (like I am going to share)  just kidding.. Of course I will...

This is what was in the mystery package from the upper photo. I had better go over to Sankari's Creative Memories site and see what Creative Memories carries these days.. What a beautiful Picture frame I am going to put it in my studio.. I only wish that it had a picture of the Two of us together...:(  Maybe we get had one photo shopped...:)

This sweet package had love note all over it.. How stinkin' cute is that... Here are a few...
What a sweet friend I have.. I love Sankari she is so much fun to talk to.. We have spent many hours on the phone.. And it feels like it's only a few minutes. The time passes so quickly we never have time to say everything. The only problem, the clock doesn't lie... The tea smell so, so de-vine it reminds me of autumn so I think I will steep some on the stove top to make the house smell de-vine.. That way I can share with the whole family... And maybe everyone will be entranced to do all their chores and homework with out any fuss. Thank you so much for thinking so much of me and treating me like a queen.. Let Talk!!!

You all must jump over to Sankari's blog and she what an amazingly beautiful person she is!!! She is so creative and I always get a huge smile on my face when I visit her blog.. Sankari is such a talented person she is a wonderful wife a mother, a trained ayurvedic consultant, a creative memories, a Professor of philisophy, a very open minded individual, a wonderful daughter, a beautiful friend, an amazing artist,a world traveler, a great movie buff, and lover of all music and dance, and the list goes on and on... She is AMAZING!!!!
Major Huge HUGS!!!

Kristina's Color Challenge #22

This was a real challenge... "Bravo Burgundy" is not a color I gravitate to.. I would much rather use "Purely Pomegranate" or "Rose Red"... In all the years of using Stampin'Up products I have never used it.. Thanks Kristina for the little shove in it's direction..... On the other hand I love "Soft Sky" and love the opportunity to continue using it... I miss it in the catalog... I did stock up on all things "Soft Sky" of course... The first thing that came to my mind to use was the "Always" Stamp set.. I wanted to use the bird... It was going to be the traditional blue bird of happiness. We always had one in our kitchen window growing up and My mother gave me one for my window when I got married... It defiantly works.. We have always had enough to eat and cooking makes me happy.. And when I have to do the dishes I have a little reminder that I am truly blessed that I have the Kitchen the center of our home....

I wanted the bird to look kinda fanciful so I wanted the "Baroque Motif" stamp set to look like the plume of bird... I dressed it with "ice-stickles" and Rhinestones...  I used my "Stampin Write" marker and first colored the stamp with "Regal Rose" then Highlighted it with "Rose Red" . I recycled the three polka-dot dots (thats a mouth full) from scrap that were laying on my table from the previous project.. I used the ""Eastern Blooms" stamp set and punched out the center of the circle with the small circle punch and added dimentionals and Crystal Effects of course..
I added layer of Card stock and stamped "French Script" as a background accent. I used the Template from the "Stampin' Up Paper Piercer" and a "Versa Marker" to draw the dots on the paper strip under the bird.. I added the sentiment from the "Stampin'Up Rub-ons" add tied it off with the silver cording from "Stampin' Up"  The Bird looks a little distressed but it's really just the edges colored a little darker with the "Soft Sky". I used the Blender pen to create a "Soft Sky" Marker because this color was not ever sold as a marker...

The little Blue Bird in my kitchen window.

Come join along with us in the challenge...

My little photographer and me

My baby started pre-school and I always take a picture of the kids on the first day of school. Even my 10th grader got his photo taken... Mommy had a great outfit picked out for his Plaid brumuda and a polo and he said it wasn't cool. This is the new out fit he wanted because it had a cool motorcycle on it.. All the men in my house have an adversion to looking sharp unless it's for school or a cute girl.(he,he)

Zach wanted to take my picture "because it was his turn to be in charge of pictures" so I humored him. Not too bad for a 4 year old. Too bad he has to stand so low - it's a perfect angle for a double chin... and a mom who has been too busy for a hair cut and color... You caught me on a crazy natural hair day. No time for straightening. My little guy and I are off to do errands and find new book to read. What to read with out "Twlight"?

Hope you all have a great Day!
Love,
Brooke and Zach

Be Inspired Challenge #21

Beate's Inspiration Photo from Pottery Barn.

"I will have a new picture in the Morning with REAL lighting... Check Back"
I decided to use one of Stampin'Up's new In-Colors "Kiwi Kiss" I am really enjoying this color. If you are a fan of "Old Olive" I think your will really enjoy this color. I also used more Stampin' Dementionals than I ever have on one card. (over 25 yikes) Of course I used "Crystal Effects" Because they don't make marker in In-Colors I use a blender pen and picked up ink from the "Kiwi Kiss" classic stampin' pad and the Aqua Painter to pick up the Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango for the vase and flowers. I had to have the stamp set "All Holidays" for this sentiment alone"My Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend" and can you believe this is the first card I have made with it. I have had it sense May I think... I also finally cut the stamp set "In Vogue Vases" to use for this card as well.. Shame on me I just put it on my stamp shelf and forget about it.

Stamp Recipe: (all Stampin' Up in-less stated)
Stamp sets-
Card stock- Craft, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, So Saffron.
Pattern Paper- Bella Designer Series Paper.
Markers- Blender Pen, So Saffron, Aqua painter.
Ink pads- Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Stazon Brown.
Ribbon- Whisper White
Dew Drops Floral department at Michael's Craft. Not sure of name.
Adhesive- mini glue dots, Snail adhesive.
Crystal Effects

Movie Watched AGAIN "Sense and Sensibility" It was in the dvd player and it's great company.
