Cinema Saturday "Ever After"

First things first!!
HAPPY 8TH ANNIVERSARY

Sankari and Keith... You are both just amazing... What a great example of Love and Support and hard work you are to all who love you... thanks for sharing your love with us...

For this weeks challenge we added the requirement of flourish's.. I also new when we decided to present the movie "EVER AFTER" that I wanted to take my inspiration from Leonardo Da Vinci's Portrait: La Scapagliata.. I love the simple elegance of this portrait.. In the movie the portrait is recreated to reflect the face of Drew Barrymore. I also wanted to use a soft French Blue. For me I associate this color with old world France...
"La Scapagliata"

Portrait, Leonardo Da Vince and Daniella..

While researching a little about Leonardo Da Vinci I did read that he did serve as the Resident Artist to King Louie & King Francis of France. He also died in France at age 60.

"Ever After" is a great movie for Young Girls to watch.. I love that they made the character a strong woman who doesn't wait around for Prince Charming to come sweep her of her feet.. She is out there trying to make her way in the world and learning all she can about life...

If you can't find this movie at your local rental store.. Or Don't want to watch it on line I purchased it at Walmart for $5.00 3 weeks ago... What a Deal... It's a must have..

Some of my favorite this about this movie:
I have to say I just love any movie that is period piece. Whether it's true of not... I love how this movie open up with the Brothers Grim visiting with the Great.....Grand daughter of Danielle de Barbarac.. The first experiences most of us have with this story is of course the Disney version.. My was with my mother childhood Disney book version.. I treasured that book and looked at is all the time...
Besides adding my flourishes I new from the start I wanted to add a French Blue and the Portrait of "La Scapagliata" by Leonardo Da Vinci..(More detail on my blog)

I love the strength and fight that Danielle has... We all want to stand up for our selves and act the way she does in this movie but some times we lack the strength to do so..

Leonardo Da Vince is one of my favorite part of this movie. I love his Whit and encouragement he gives Danielle.

Leonardo da Vinci: I shall leave walking on water to the Son of God. Fortunately I tripped over an angel.
Leonardo da Vinci: I know that a life without love is no life at all

[after DaVinci opens a locked door by removing the pins from the hinges]
Louise: Why, that was pure genius!
Leonardo da Vinci: Yes, I shall go down in history as the man who opened a door!

Come join us and creative a Project based on the movie.. "EVER AFTER" Don't forget to use the required element... "Flourishes" When you are done come post your project here...

I have been a bit addicted lately. I'm going to have to slow down a bit though. I rode my bike yesterday for the first time since I had Pneumonia and it went okay, so I'm going to have to share a little of my time crafting with my love for biking too.

I absolutely loved this movie when it came out it was the first movie I watched when I meet my husband so it brings back heaps of memories of our first date. Your card was just breathtaking. thank you for sharing. It was a really beautiful card. It seems such a coincidence that it was my eight year anniversary and to be reminded of this movie again was really nice. thank again for the inspiration.
