Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #25- "Gold Finger" James Bond

"Gold Finger"
James Bond

Card image inspiration. I thought this was a great image... Totally  un expected.  It's rather comical that the title is called Gold Finger and on the cover of the book there are Gold Eye's.

This sentiment reminds me of James or one of his lady friends(wink, wink) handing some to the other and saying "here is a little something to remember me by".

I wanted to add in a little extra Gold so I decided on Gold coins and Gold thread.. If the flower doesn't kill you the gold thread and do some damage I am sure.

My Favorite James Bond of ALL TIMES is "Shaun Connery" What a hunk... I still think he is dang cute. The "James Bond" movie were a favorite of mine growing up.. My dad love to watch them so we learned to love them as well. I did get my feel for the movies and am still recovering I might add. During the U.S.'s "Thanksgiving" season they have a "James Bond" marathon. Let's just say my dad and mom were staying with us and dad had control of the T.V. and to this day when we here the theme song we all get a little twitchy.. He watched the shows for like 2 days straight.. Yikes!

The new "James Bond" Movies are really great as well. The Action is so much more realistic for a spy. The newest movie was just released this week. We took the older boys to see it in the theaters. They loved it.. During the movie my DH whispered in my ear.. This is not filmed in Bolivia... He lived there for 2 years ages ago thing are still pretty much the same. Not a lot of progress.  I know that while my DD and I are of dancing this week-end they will be watching this movie. They could hardly wait for the week-end to come.

Have a great Week-end and lets get stampin'

Dancing Queen

Get Read, Get Set, Let GO!!!

Here we go again. We are of for another competition week-end.
Abbie has really enjoyed competing this year in dance. She has also improved so much because of so many practices.. We are so proud of her and can't wait for another day of FUN!

Ouch... The judges made comments on how flexible she was.. She has worked REALLY hard to get all her splits.. Ever direction...
The Judges also said they couldn't keep their eyes of her she was so stinkin' cute... That's good and bad.. It puts a lot of pressure to be perfect and not make any mistakes. They commented on her amazing hair as well..

WE think she is cute as well..

Hope you all have a great week-end.. I have a post scheduled for tomorrow for our Cinema Saturday challenge so don't forget to come back.
Hugs

My DD has a dance competition and she and I leave tomorrow for the weekend.. She had such a great time preforming last weekend I hope she has an even greater time this weekend. Break a leg little girl.. Can't wait to see you shake your bootie.

Kristina's Color Challenge #47

OK so I totally know it's 1:16 in the A.M. But I haven't done Kristina's challenge in a LONG time. I was up late working on the Sneak Peeks for the Cinema Saturday challenge tomorrow and Sankari told me her challenge was posted. So While I was in my studio working on my Cinema Saturday card I just had to play along with Kristina. I had a vision of a card I did for a convention swap come to mind.. Could I find a version of this card on my room anywhere? NO. So I had to do by memory. This time I added Ribbon so I could use a 4th color. Get use to seeing this So Saffron Ribbon I have a LOAD of it from Sale-A-Bration. If you want to get a LOAD of it for your self you only have a few day left to order during the Sale-A-Bration Celebration.  I am so glad Kristina used the Tangerine Color I haven't used it in ages.. I am a total "Pumpkin Pie" loving fool.

Come join us tomorrow on the Cinema Saturday blog and take a guess at the sneak peek. This Week we are giving away Blog candy to celebrate our
25th Challenge.
Come play along with us.

Night Night!

Happy Birthday Wendi.....Mojo Monday #79

I want to shout out a Happy Birthday to my new Scrappin' Friend Wendi.. She just moved to Utah from Alabama.. She was by partner in crime at the "Scrapbook USA" Expo.. We had such a great time.. We took our daughter that kept wining "I'm board" or mostly Abbie was winning.... or doing cartwheels or acting like a spaz not sure what she was on that day... She is only 10 and a little nut sometimes...

Left photo is the front view of the card I made
For Wendi. Right photo is the inside of the
Card.

I am so excite to have a new friend that loves paper crafting as much as I do. Especially because we have similar styles... Hooray! I have to laugh... All I kept hearing from everyone that me Wendi was "She really likes to scrapbook and really wants to fine ladies that what to scrapbook." Who would have thought that Wendi would have had such a hard time finding a scrapbook buddy in Utah of all places.. It seems that everyone scrapbooks here except in the neighborhood/street that Wendi moved into.. After all most of the on-line stores, scrapbook/Stamp companies, and Scrapbook/stamp/craft magazines are located here in Utah a stones through from my house (3-15 miles for most). Did I mention that Wendi even got a job at a scrapbook store with in a few weeks of moving here.. (Die hard) Well Wendi we have each other and our little stamp group for cards... Welcome to Utah.. I love ya already..

Hugs
Brooke

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #24 - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This week on Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge we are presenting
 "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
Based on the book by Roald Dahl.
our spring board challenge this week is to incorporate bright colors!
Come create a card and post it on our blog to share with all.

1st card~

A little love note for my sweetie.

2nd card~
I just got this set from my last Stampin' Up order and had to use the Gumdrops of course!

this last weekend I went to Scrapbook USA, I wanted to keep my eyes open and find something that I could use on my challenge card this week. The top card I made for my "Sweetie" I used only products I purchased from the show including the white note card. When I saw the rub-on's the swirls and sentiment made me think of all the amazing colors and wild aspects of this movie. The steal of a deal was the velvet ribbon. I got a roll(15 yards) for only $1.00. Dang I just remembered I just a Stampin' Up Chipboard letter it's not a bad thing of course but I was going to use only expo products...(he,he)

About this movie:
I remember as a kid watching this movie at Christmas time. It was a big deal when you had to wait patiently for the show to be broadcasted and couldn't just download or rent a movie. I remember being excite and scared at the same time.. I was a bit of a frady cat you could say. I had a thing for face painting back them It totally FREAKED me out. I even left parties if there were clowns present. This original movie was the first DVD I actually purchased. I am glad I don't have to decide which version is my favorite because I love aspects of both. Jonny Deep is defiantly cuter than Gene Wilder but Gene is so great at playing bizarre.. Did you know   Peter Ostrum who played Charlie never acted again. Peter was offered 2 movies after but turned them both down. Peter is now a Vet in Up-State New York and said he made the right choice not acting again.  The kids in the re-make. Freddie Highmore and AnnaSophia Robb are both HUGE child actors with successful acting careers before and after this movie.

Come play along with us this week and create you own magical sweet creation.

Hugs
Brooke

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge # "Singing in the Rain"

Who Else Has Spring Fever?

What a great show this is.. It has been years sense I have see "Sing in the Rain". The first thing that comes to mind of course is the title song "Singing in the Rain". When I was little my Grandmother would sing this song. She even had a music box that had this tune. I have to say I love watching Gene Kelly sing and dance.. I love him in Xanadu as well. I can't help but think of "The unsinkable Molly Brown" When I see Debbie Renyolds. She is such a little spit fire of a singer and dancer. Did you know that she was not even a dancer until this movie.. She is a fast leaner. She said "This movie and childbirth were the hardest things I ever did". When I think of Debbie I also think of her daughter "Princess Leia" Carrie Fisher. I guess that's what happens when you have such a long carrier and then you family jumps on the Hollywood bandwagon as well.

Our challenge this week was to bring an element of water to our projects. I decided to use three elements of water.. Window sheeting, Crystal effects and Clear dew drops. From the time Sankari and I talked about this movie I had this little umbrella stamp in the back of my mind. I think it's actually the first time I have ever used it.. (sad I know) I stamped the image in black "Stazon" ink and water colored the image with chalk. When the image was dry I used crystal effect on the image. I used a stylus to add it in just the right places.
(tutorial on crystal effects)

The best adhesive to use on Window sheeting is Glue dots. There hold were strong and secure. I even used the glue dots on the floating ribbon. I really love the floating effect you get when you use window sheeting. It's also fun to create the different layers that build upon the card as you open and close the card.

Floating effect using window sheets.

I could not forget the back of the card.

Window Sheeting ? You can purchase it from Stampin' Up (I had to use up my old batch)

Mother and Daughter project ~ Diaper Cake

Abbie's wanted to make a special gift for her teachers aid that was leaving to have a baby. The class and teacher planned a baby shower for her today at school. We talked about making a present but we just ran out of time. So this is what we cam up with.. We had a great time watching Phantom of  the Opera and working in my studio just the two of us. We did have lots of visitors while we were working.. (Brothers) Zach even helped us roll up the diapers.. So you can't say you are not capable of making this project if a 5 year old can. Abbie's teachers aid never wants to take the cake apart she loved it.

Abbie and mommy maid all the flowers together.
What a great team. We had a great time.

Kristina's color challenge #43 "Friend"

"FRIEND"
I haven't had a chance to make a card for Kristina's color challenge in  a while.. I really miss here challenges...  This card is a little dedication to all the amazing friends I have meet through Kristina's challenge blog.. I love that making cards has connected me with amazing women throughout the world.. I love you all dearly..

I got my inspiration from the middle piece of fabric on the inspiration photo.. I only had a limited time to play and a card I made a number of years ago came to mind.. I altered it just a little and... Wha..Laaa.. I think this is a great way to use up scraps, make a card for a boy or man in your life.. Or if you need a really fast card... I even used my SU buttons... This is a big deal for me I love to collect embellishments with the intention  of using them...... But some of my favorite this I really have a hard time using because when there gone... Then what?  Is anyone else like that or am I the only compulsive collector out there..

Card Recipe:
Stamps~
SU Card Stock/Ink ~ Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive,     Ruby Red
Buttons~ Stampin' Up
Linnen Thread~ Stampin' Up
Adhesive ATG gun.

Movie ~ "Forgotten"
This was a little claustrophobic to me. The overwhelming  thought that your mind and life could be erased  or you and you family, friends, LIFE could be erased.. Yikes. And the fact that everyones is telling you that you are totally delusional....
